PM Vows to Make Pakistan Attractive Investment Destination


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed commitment to transform Pakistan into an attractive destination for investment in the region through transparency and by crafting economic policies aligned with global standards. He was presiding over a meeting regarding the country’s economy in Islamabad on Friday.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister directed relevant ministries and institutions to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities to foreign investors. He further stated that the recent positive economic trends reflect the confidence of foreign investors in the country’s economy. He emphasized that stabilizing the country’s economy on strong foundations is the top priority of the government.



Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the importance of private sector participation, stating that it will play a crucial role in planning economic activities. He pledged that the government would utilize all investment opportunities to promote public welfare and increase employment opportunities. He noted that ongoing economic and financial reforms have set the economy on a new course, with the country steadily moving toward sustainable progress due to innovation and transparency.



The meeting reviewed in detail the overall economic situation, the promotion of foreign direct investment, and ongoing and proposed development projects. Participants were briefed on ongoing projects in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, information technology, and industry.



Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Energy Owais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, Minister for Climate Change Dr Musadik Masood Malik, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Communications and Privatization Aleem Khan, and senior officials from relevant departments were present on the occasion.
