Work on the construction of a 84 megawatt hydel power plant at Matiltan in Swat district is in progress.
A spokesman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization told our Peshawar correspondent that the power plant is being constructed on Swat river and it will be completed at a cost of twenty billion rupees by 2020.
The provincial government is also working on a plan to construct several other hydel projects on Swat river to overcome shortage of electricity.
