"Plant for Pakistan" campaign was launched in various cities of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, including Peshawar, Abbottabad and Torghar on Sunday.
People are being provided free of cost saplings for plantation at different distribution points.
Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling in a government school.
Two hundred thousand saplings will be planted in different areas of Provincial Capital today.
Officials of district administration, Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar and Forest and Education Departments besides students and volunteers are taking part in the campaign.
Similarly, tree plantation campaign was also started in Mohmand district where one hundred thousand saplings will be planted.
