Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to launch an effective public awareness campaign to save gas in the country in view of gap between supply and demand of gas in coming months.
He was chairing a review meeting on the current situation of supply and demand of gas and its shortage in the upcoming months in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
The meeting was briefed on the current situation of supply and demand of gas, reduction in local gas production and arrangements to meet the challenge of gas demand.
The meeting was also informed that, in view of declining gas production at local level and price differences in domestic and imported gas, full cooperation will be required from all provincial governments to meet gas demands for domestic consumers in coming few months, especially in December and January.
The meeting was informed that supply of 100-150 MMCFD gas can be ensured after laying pipeline and a special request is being made to the Sindh government about Right of Way so that it can be implemented as soon as possible.
