Baghdad Iraqi President Barham Salih stressed that the United States was an important strategic partner for Iraq.
In a press statement issued Wednesday after meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Baghdad on Tuesday evening, President Salih affirmed Iraq's keenness to develop bilateral relations with the United States in various fields.
For his part, Pompeo valued Iran's efforts and role in the region and the government's endeavors to attract foreign investment and expertise, noting the depth of relations between the U.S. and Iraq.
