A function in connection with National Voters Day was held in Peshawar this morning.
Addressing the function, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra stressed the need for creating awareness among people to know the importance of vote.
He said the introduction of modern technologies in Election Commission will make the electoral process more transparent.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the adoption of election act 2017 is a big achievement for the people and government.
He asked the voters to ensure their registration, so that they could cast their votes in the forthcoming general election.
The governor emphasized the Election Commission to take concrete steps to facilitate special people and women in the election, 2018.
Speaking on this occasion, Member Election Commission of Pakistan Justice (Retd) Irshad Qaiser said reforms have been introduced to facilitate voters in election process.
Later, a walk was taken out highlighting the importance of the day.
