The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet in its meeting in Peshawar today approved the notification declaring forty-nine new tehsils including merged districts as local areas for the purpose of conducting incoming local bodies elections.
Chief Minister Mehmood Khan presided the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the government is taking practical steps to fulfil its constitutional responsibilities for timely conducting local bodies elections.
The cabinet also approved special compensation package for goods, lost or destroyed in market of Miran Shah and Mir Ali in North Waziristan during operation Zarb-e-Azb.
The amount agreed upon as a compensation included two point eight billion rupees for Mir Ali Bazar and three hundred and thirty-one million rupees for Miran Shah Bazar.
