The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is spending five hundred and seventy million rupees on solarization of tube wells to promote agriculture in the province.
A spokesman of Agriculture Department told our Peshawar correspondent that more than four hundred tube wells have been recently converted to solar energy in different areas of the province. These tube wells are irrigating twenty six thousand acres land.
The spokesman said seven hundred more tube wells will be converted to solar energy next year. This will reduce burden of electricity on national grid.
