Bishkek, (IINA) - Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev announced Monday that the country will hold its presidential elections on October 15.
The president made the announcement during a solemn event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He said that over the last 5-6 years, the country has made considerable progress. This is, first of all, peace and stability in the country. Also the current army can be among great achievements, he said
The president also said that when the chief of the General Staff General Duishenbiev said that now Kyrgyzstan has a real army, he was very happy. "I've been waiting for these words for a very long time," he said.
