Jeddah (IINA) The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) considered the US airstrike on Syrian military targets as a natural and expected response to the Syrian regime's chemical attack that killed scores of innocent civilians, including children and women.
The OIC described the acts perpetrated by the Syrian regime as an endless series of brutal, criminal and inhumane ones against Syrians in gross violation of the international law.
The OIC held the Syrian regime responsible for these military operations due to its continued bloody and destructive aggressions against the Syrians, in defiance of the international community by using internationally prohibited weapons.
The Organization added that Syria's regime is held responsible for the US military attacks because of its complete disregard of all regional and international initiatives for a political solution to the crisis that would end the Syrian people's suffering and meet their legitimate aspirations to freedom and justice, as outlined in the Geneva I talks.
The OIC called on the international community to take serious steps to end the Syrian crisis so that peace and stability prevail in the country and the entire region.
