Washington (UNA-OIC) US President Donald Trump will meet President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev next week to discuss economic and security issues, the White House announced on Tuesday.
During the visit, which is set to take place at the White House on January 16, "President Trump and President Nazarbayev will discuss ways to strengthen and enhance our strategic partnership on regional security issues and economic cooperation," the statement said.
The two leaders are set to discuss several pressing international issues such as the conflict in Afghanistan, which Kazakhstan must address as the current head of the United Nations Security Council.
Trump and Nazarbayev will also address nuclear non-proliferation issues, the White House said. The leaders previously met at the Arab Islamic American Summit held in Riyadh in May along with several other heads of state and leaders.
