Jerusalem (IINA) US Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt met on Wednesday with a group of Palestinians from Gaza to discuss their aspirations for peace and views on how the humanitarian and economic situation in the enclave can be improved, WAFA reported.
Greenblatt underscored President Trump's commitment to helping Palestinians and Israelis reach a conflict-ending peace agreement that would provide a more prosperous and secure future for both peoples, said a statement issued by US Consulate in Jerusalem.
The US envoy also underscored the Trump Administration's interest in improving the economic environment for the Palestinian business community, including those in Gaza, the statement added.
Greenblatt arrived in the region early this week in an effort to revive the deadlocked Palestinian-Israeli peace process. He held meetings with Palestinian and Israeli officials and members of the community and is expected to meet on Thursday with President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, a day after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
