‘ECP committed to holding of free, fair general elections’

The Election Commission of Pakistan has reaffirmed holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

In a press release issued on Friday, the spokesperson of Election Commission has termed baseless and concocted, a statement by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf about the Commission.

It said at a time when date for general elections has been fixed through understanding, such statement is tantamount to disrupting the amicable environment.

The spokesperson said Election Commission will neither fall to such propaganda nor will succumb to pressure of any political party.

It categorically stated that the Election Commission is a constitutional institution which will continue its responsibilities without any fear.
