Punjab Arts Council Announces New Initiatives and Celebrations at Board Meeting

Rawalpindi: The fifth Board of Management meeting of the Punjab Arts Council was presided over by Board President Saqib Rafiq, who introduced newly appointed Director Sajjad Hussain and discussed upcoming cultural initiatives. Plans were laid out for Independence Day celebrations and the proposed establishment of a permanent art gallery.

According to Punjab Arts Council, the meeting saw contributions from board members Aasma Butt, Muhammad Azeem Iqbal, Hassan Abbas Raza, and Muhammad Aslam Mughal. President Saqib Rafiq emphasized the region’s rich cultural heritage and the board’s commitment to enhancing arts and culture. A highlight of the meeting was the detailed briefing provided by Director Sajjad Hussain on the upcoming Kashmir Exploitation Day and Independence Day events. Additionally, the board supported Hussain’s proposal for a new art gallery to feature works from notable regional artists and endorsed plans for a summer camp for children scheduled for July and August.
