Ahsan Iqbal Lauds Role of Private Sector in Economic Revival

Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has emphasized the utilizing private sector investment, innovation, and management skills to overcome financial constraints. Chairing a board meeting of the Public Private Partnership Authority in Islamabad, he said it will also help accelerate project completion and improve efficiency in delivering essential infrastructure and services.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting approved several high-impact infrastructure initiatives being undertaken through public-private partnerships. These include the hiring of an International Financial Institution as a transaction advisor for a suite of urban water and sewerage projects in Islamabad.

In-principle approval was also granted to the revised commercial structure of the 69 kilometers long Sialkot-Kharian Motorway project. In addition, the board approved the Project Proposal for the Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway. The project spans 117.6 kilometers and will be developed as a six-lane greenfield motorway.
