Karachi: A delegation of Azad Jammu and Kashmir led by former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas met with President Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi. The delegation, comprising Advisor to the AJK Government on Prisons Sardar Ahmad Saghir, MLA Ali Shan Soni, and Sardar Umar Tanveer, declared their decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party.
According to Radio Pakistan, the President welcomed the delegation and congratulated them on their decision to join the party. The meeting was also graced by the presence of President of the PPP Women's Wing, MPA, and sister of President Zardari, Faryal Talpur.
The event saw the attendance of prominent figures including Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, senior PPP leader Saleem Mandviwalla, former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz, and Sardar Zia Qamar. Additionally, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar, Provincial Minister Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, and MPA Sohail Anwar Siyal were present.
During the meeting, participants engaged in a discussion on the political and economic situation of the country, highlighting the importance of strategies for national reconciliation, unity, and addressing public issues.
