APHC Voices Concern Over Treatment of Kashmiri Political Prisoners

Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed grave concern over the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in jails across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and India.

According to Radio Pakistan, APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, along with senior Hurriyat leaders such as Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, and others, including youth, religious scholars, human rights activists, and journalists, are among the thousands incarcerated for their political beliefs. The APHC has raised alarms over the inhuman treatment meted out to these individuals, with jail authorities allegedly prolonging their unlawful detention by withholding court appearances in fabricated cases.

Advocate Minhas has demanded the immediate and unconditional release of these prisoners, emphasizing that there is no legal or moral justification for their continued imprisonment. The APHC's stance sheds light on the ongoing struggle for justice and human rights in the region.

Meanwhile, a significant protest was organized outside the Indian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, on Indian Independence Day. Spearheaded by the Kashmir Council Europe, the demonstration attracted a large number of Kashmiri and Pakistani expatriates, alongside supporters of the Kashmir cause. The protesters vocally opposed Indian actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating their support for the Kashmiris' right to self-determination.
