Lahore: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has lauded the Christian community for their invaluable services in the creation, strengthening, and defence of Pakistan. Addressing an event held in connection with Easter in Lahore today, he said these contributions would be written in golden words in the nation's history. According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted that personnel from minority communities serving in the armed forces continue to sacrifice their lives in the fight against terrorism. He also lauded the Christian community's role in promoting education across the country, calling it another significant service of worth recognition. Referring to the challenges currently faced by the nation due to regional conflict and their global repercussions, Attaullah Tarar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured that the government will not leave the people alone in these difficult times. He added that the government is providing subsidies on petroleum products for motorbi ke owners, public transport operators, and goods transporters to ease the burden on the public. Free public transport has also been made available in Islamabad and throughout Punjab. The Minister said the Prime Minister and federal government remain fully aware of the hardships being faced by the people and are committed to taking every possible step to provide relief.
