Gwadar: China's Xinning Enterprise has signed a Letter of Intent with the Gwadar Port Authority to drive major industrial and commercial investments at Gwadar Port and its Free Zone. The agreement was formalized by Yi Jiang, representing Xinning Enterprise, and was received by Umer Zaffar Shaikh, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, on behalf of the Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ventures outlined in the agreement aim to develop Gwadar Port as a regional transshipment center. Plans include launching new industrial projects, optimizing existing facilities within the Gwadar Free Zone, and relocating industries to enhance the port's operational capabilities.
The Chinese business delegation, led by Yi Jiang, also engaged in discussions with Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance the performance of Gwadar Port. Minister Junaid Chaudhry reiterated the government's commitment to transforming Gwadar into a global maritime gateway and industrial powerhouse.
