Karachi: Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has vowed to continue the ongoing crackdown against the illegal entry of heavy vehicles in Karachi, which is aimed at bringing all transport activities in line with legal standards. In a statement, he said due to this operation, the traffic congestion has been reduced in Karachi. According to Radio Pakistan, in the ongoing operation, around 1,392 vehicles have been fined with an amount of 4.428 million rupees by the Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Department. The officials of the department seized 80 vehicles and suspended route permits of 58 vehicles. The warning notices were also served to the transporters in violation of the rules.
