According to Radio Pakistan, Kanwal Naseer was the daughter of Mohni Hameed, a legendary radio personality also known as Apa Shameem. With a career spanning five decades, Naseer was a stalwart at Pakistan Television (PTV) and Radio Pakistan. Her groundbreaking achievements include being the first female anchor, newscaster, and announcer at PTV, setting a precedent for women in media. Throughout her illustrious career, Kanwal Naseer was honored with the Pride of Performance award, among numerous other national accolades, recognizing her invaluable contributions to the media industry. She passed away on this day in 2021, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire many in the field of broadcasting.
