Death anniversary of classical Urdu poet Mir Taqi Mir was observed on Friday. Born in Agra in 1723, Mir breathed his last on this day in Lucknow in 1810. Mir Taqi Mir's poetry gave shape to the Urdu language. He was one of the principal poets of the Delhi School of Urdu called Dabistan-e-Delhi. Nukat-us-Shura, Zikr-e-Mir, Kulliyat-e-Mir and Mir Taqi Mir Ki Rubaiyat are some of his tremendous works. Source: Radio Pakistan
