Islamabad: The seventeenth death anniversary of renowned Pakistani film actor Yousaf Khan was observed today (Sunday). Yousaf Khan, a prominent figure in the Pakistani film industry, was born in 1933 in Ferozepur, British India. Following the partition of India in 1947, his family migrated to Pakistan and settled in Kasur.

According to Radio Pakistan, Yousaf Khan's cinematic journey began with the release of his first film, 'Parwaz', in 1954. Initially recognized as a character actor, he eventually rose to fame as a leading actor with his role in the 1973 Urdu film 'Ziddi'. The 1970s marked his transformation into a superstar Punjabi hero, solidifying his status in the industry.

Throughout his career, Yousaf Khan showcased his versatility by working in more than 400 films across Urdu, Pashto, and Punjabi languages. His contributions to the film industry left a lasting impact, and he continues to be remembered and celebrated for his work. Yousaf Khan passed away in Lahore on this day in 2009.
