Istanbul: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with President of Trkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Istanbul during his visit for the 51st session of the OIC CFM. He was joined by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, Senator Dar conveyed warm greetings from Pakistan's Prime Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, to President Erdogan and emphasized the significant value Pakistan places on its enduring bilateral relations with Trkiye. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen and expand the longstanding cooperation between their countries.
The leaders expressed strong condemnation of ongoing Israeli attacks, highlighting violations of international law. They reiterated support for Iran's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its right to self-defense under the UN Charter. Both parties agreed to continue diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and called on the international community to contribute to restoring peace and stability in the region.
Furthermore, the discussion underscored the need for immediate efforts to halt Israeli aggression in Gaza and ensure the unhindered provision of humanitarian aid to the besieged population there.
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated President Erdogan on receiving an award from the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, recognizing his leadership and the successful hosting of the OIC CFM session.
