Disaster Management’ demos held at IMSB

In the Federal Capital, volunteers of Civil Defence demonstrated their skills and preparedness to cope with emergency situations at Islamabad Model School for Boys (IMSB) today.

These volunteers were provided with a four-day civil defense training.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Sheharyar Arif Khan was the chief guest on this occasion.

On this occasion, the volunteers presented several demonstrations to tackle the emergency situation.

The demonstrations included extinguishing of fire, rescue and relief work in response to the bomb blast or any terrorist activities, safe evacuation of stranded people from higher altitude in case of fire outbreak and so forth.

The personnel of Rescue 1122, Ambulances, and Fire Brigade also took part in the demonstrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheharyar Arif Khan highlighted the importance of disaster management and appreciated civil defence department of imparting training to the students.

He emphasized broadening the scope of training to all schools situated in the Islamabad Capital Territory. He distributed shields and certificates among the participants.
