Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has departed for New York to attend the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. During this visit, he will engage in a series of meetings and discussions aimed at addressing pressing international issues.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister's agenda includes participation in the High-Level week, where he will attend the meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir. Here, he intends to underscore Pakistan's commitment to the Kashmiris' right to self-determination. In addition, Dar will participate in several OIC Ministerial meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA, including the OIC Foreign Ministers' Annual Coordination Meeting.

Reflecting Pakistan's support for the Palestinian cause, Ishaq Dar will attend various high-level meetings focused on Palestine. These include the meeting of the Group of Eight Arab Islamic countries and the High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.

The Deputy Prime Minister is also scheduled to deliver a statement at the UN Security Council high-level briefing on Artificial Intelligence and attend the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response. Furthermore, he will chair the meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers.

Ishaq Dar plans to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from several countries and accompany the Prime Minister during high-level bilateral engagements. Throughout these engagements, he will emphasize Pakistan's efforts for regional and international peace and stability, while exchanging views on key regional and international challenges.
