DPM Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to “Shanghai Spirit” at SCO Meeting

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to the "Shanghai Spirit" and to advancing cooperation, connectivity, and shared growth among SCO Member States. He expressed this resolve while addressing the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic today.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar thanked the Kyrgyz leadership and Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev for their hospitality and arrangements in hosting the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers. He extended felicitations on the SCO's 25th anniversary, highlighting the Organization's work for regional peace, security, prosperity, and sustainable development.

Dar emphasized Pakistan's diplomatic efforts for regional peace, including the Islamabad Talks and the Islamabad MoU, reflecting Pakistan's commitment to dialogue and diplomacy. He expressed gratitude to his counterparts for recognizing and appreciating Pakistan's efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The Deputy Prime Minister also conveyed Pakistan's readiness to assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) in September this year and to welcome all SCO Member States to Pakistan for the CHS Summit next year.
