DPM Reviews Fuel Subsidy Scheme in Islamabad

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review the Fuel Subsidy Scheme. He evaluated the relief efforts aimed at supporting public transport operators, motorcycle owners, and farmers amid rising fuel prices caused by regional tensions and war-related disruptions. According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting assessed the implementation progress of the scheme, focusing on transparency, accountability, and coordination with provincial governments. It was reported that four tranches have been disbursed on a biweekly basis over the past two months. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress and called for continued coordination and strengthened accountability to ensure maximum benefit for the intended beneficiaries. It was also decided that the 5th and 6th tranches of the scheme would be disbursed during this month as part of the ongoing rollout.
