Electricity Restored in Majority of Flood-Hit Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Tarar

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that electricity has mostly been restored in the flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Radio Pakistan, in his televised message, Tarar provided the latest updates on rescue and relief efforts, stating that out of sixty feeders, fifty-two have been restored in regions including Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Swabi. He assured that the remaining eight feeders would be restored soon.

The Information Minister also mentioned that no national highways are currently blocked, and the federal government is actively assisting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in restoring the provincial roads.

Tarar highlighted that the National Disaster Management Authority, following the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is significantly involved in rescue and relief efforts in coordination with provincial governments and PDMAs. He further emphasized that the Pakistan Army has deployed units to the flood-affected areas to support these efforts, labeling it a unified national response to the flooding situation.

Regarding the landslides in Gupis Tehsil of Gilgit Baltistan, the Information Minister reported that residents have been successfully rescued and relocated to safe locations.
