Exemplary Cleanliness Arrangements Made Across Punjab on Eid: DG Suthra Punjab

Lahore: Director General Suthra Punjab Authority Babar Sahib Din says exemplary cleanliness arrangements have been made across Punjab, including Lahore, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha under the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan correspondent Qasim Bukhari, he said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is personally monitoring the province-wide cleanliness operation on a continuous basis.

According to Radio Pakistan, Babar Sahib Din said 104 collection points, around 300 field camps, and special awareness centres have been established across Lahore, while 1.5 million biodegradable bags have been distributed among citizens. He mentioned that modern technology and artificial intelligence are being used to monitor the operation, with AI-based systems ensuring real-time monitoring of the collection and disposal of animal waste.

The Director General highlighted that an estimated fifty to sixty thousand tons of waste are expected to be generated in Lahore during the three days of Eid-ul-Adha, while nearly four thousand collection points have been set up across Punjab. Operational field camps and awareness centres are active in every union council of the province, and twelve million biodegradable bags are being distributed among the public.

Babar Sahib Din also noted that special washing and cleanliness operations at more than thirteen hundred collective sacrificial sites, as well as sixty-five thousand mosques and Eidgahs across Punjab, were completed before Eid prayers. He added that machinery for the immediate disposal of animal waste is fully operational.

Director General Suthra Punjab Authority urged the public to contact helpline 1139 in case of complaints, assuring that response teams would reach the site within thirty minutes.
