Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is in the United States on an official visit: Syed Asim Munir is actively engaging with senior political and military leadership, as well as the Pakistani diaspora during his visit.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Army Chief has participated in high-level interactions, including attending the Retirement Ceremony of the outgoing Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM), General Michael E. Kurilla, and the Change of Command Ceremony in Tampa, where Admiral Brad Cooper assumed command.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir acknowledged General Kurilla's leadership and contributions to enhancing bilateral military cooperation and offered his best wishes to Admiral Cooper. He expressed optimism for continued collaboration to tackle shared security challenges.
The COAS also had a meeting with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, discussing matters of mutual professional interest. He invited General Caine to visit Pakistan and interacted with Chiefs of Defence from friendly nations on the sidelines.
During a session with the Pakistani diaspora, the Chief of Army Staff encouraged them to maintain confidence in Pakistan's future and contribute to attracting investments. The diaspora expressed their commitment to supporting Pakistan's development.
