Government Launches Ashra Rahmatul-lil-Alameen (SAW) Celebrations with Year-Long Activities

Islamabad: The government has commenced the Ashra Rahmatul-lil-Alameen (SAW) celebrations, marking the 1500th blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallho Alaihe Wassallam) for the year 1447 Hijri. This announcement was made by the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, during a news conference.

According to Radio Pakistan, the celebrations will span from the 1st to the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, with the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference serving as the highlight of the events. This conference, being the 50th edition, will bring together prominent government officials, esteemed Ulema, diplomats, and delegates from both within and outside Pakistan. In conjunction with the international conference in Islamabad, a national "Qur'an and Seerat Exhibition" will be held, showcasing manuscripts, publications, and digital content related to the Qur'an and Seerat.

A national Naat competition is scheduled for the night of the 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal, where winners of the 2025 national Seerat books, Naat, and essay contests will be awarded prizes. The Minister also announced that this year's celebrations will focus on the theme: "State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Beneficial Use of Social Media, in the Light of the Life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallho Alaihe Wassallam)."

Provincial governments, including those of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, have been urged to organize Seerat-un-Nabi related events in their regions. These events will comprise provincial-level Seerat conferences, Naat gatherings, seminars, competitions, and special programs for students and youth. Schools, colleges, and universities will conduct special events, speech competitions, and awareness programs to help the younger generation connect with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Sallallho Alaihe Wassallam) and learn to use modern media for constructive purposes.
