Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the government's commitment to achieving export-led economic development. Speaking with a delegation of senior leadership from the Chambers of Commerce and Industry across the country, the Prime Minister highlighted the collective efforts being made to stabilize the economy through persistent hard work.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister stated that the government will continue its endeavors to ensure faster economic development and that additional measures will be introduced in the upcoming budget to further promote industrial development and production. He announced the relocation of the head office of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited to Karachi to better facilitate the business community. Furthermore, in response to requests from overseas Pakistanis and the business community, he directed the opening of a passport office in Gujrat.

The Prime Minister reiterated the government's focus on reforming and supporting the development of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector as a part of its economic agenda. He encouraged Pakistani investors to engage in joint ventures for the local production of electric vehicles.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed their support for the government's efforts to foster economic development and employment growth. They pledged to assist in formalizing the grey economy through digitalization and other reforms. The delegation acknowledged the government's initiatives, such as reforms in the board of the Export Development Fund, successful privatization of PIA, digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and the implementation of e-invoicing.

The delegation also presented their suggestions to the Prime Minister concerning the upcoming budget and the country's overall economic development.
