Islamabad: Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik announced that the Federal Government is set to take measures to address the environmental challenges faced by Gilgit-Baltistan. According to Radio Pakistan, Musadik Malik conveyed this commitment during a meeting with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman in Islamabad. The discussion focused on the pressing environmental concerns in the region, particularly the melting of glaciers and the issue of deforestation. The meeting highlighted the urgency of addressing these environmental issues, which pose significant risks to the ecological balance and the livelihoods of communities in Gilgit-Baltistan. Both leaders emphasized the need for a strategic approach to mitigate the impacts of climate change in the region.
