Govt Advocates Financial Inclusion Through Technology Initiatives

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced that the government is committed to supporting initiatives that promote financial inclusion and transition towards a cashless economy. This statement was made during the launch ceremony of Z-Wallet, a collaboration between Zong, Zindigi, and JS Bank, held in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister praised the partnership between Zong, Zindigi, and JS Bank, which aims to enhance financial inclusion and offer technology-based financial services to citizens. He emphasized that the initiative would integrate connectivity, technology, and internet banking to simplify access to financial services for ordinary citizens. Tarar assured that the government is fully backing efforts related to technology, telecom services, internet banking, and financial inclusion.

During the event, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani underscored the government's efforts in promoting the digital economy. He highlighted the focus on adopting digital payments, fostering innovation, and utilizing enabling technologies to advance this agenda. Kayani also detailed achievements in various sectors aimed at enhancing digital financial services, ensuring that citizens have at least one digital payment option available for all People-to-Government transactions, including toll taxes, motor vehicle license payments, and bills.
