Islamabad: The Senate has been informed that the government is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against human trafficking and has initiated a series of legal, administrative, and enforcement measures to address the issue. Responding to a question during Question Hour, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said authorities have been empowered to impose travel bans on individuals involved in human smuggling. Additionally, a robust pre-boarding scrutiny system has been implemented at all international airports across the country.
According to Radio Pakistan, in response to another question regarding the Voluntary Repatriation Campaign for undocumented foreign nationals, Talal Chaudhry said transit centers have been established in coordination with provincial governments, providing returnees with secure and humane conditions before their transportation to their countries of origin.
He added that 247 facilitation centers have been set up in all provinces as well as in Islamabad. He emphasized that Afghan nationals are treated with dignity and respect throughout the entire process of voluntary repatriation.
The Minister of State further said Afghan citizens wishing to return to Pakistan are welcome to do so, provided they have proper documentation and follow legal procedures.
