Govt Launches MIS and Mobile App for Workers’ Welfare: Salik

Islamabad: The Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) organized a significant inauguration ceremony for its newly developed Management Information System (MIS) and Mobile Application. The event was attended by the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Mr. Chaudhry Salik Hussain, who served as the Chief Guest.

According to Radio Pakistan, the ceremony was also attended by Federal Secretary Mr. Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, Member Punjab Assembly Mr. Mohsin Ayub, media representatives, officials from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other senior officers and directors. During his address, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain highlighted the importance of this day as a historic milestone in institutional reforms and the welfare of industrial workers. He elaborated on the Ministry's efforts to modernize systems to better serve workers and emphasized the government's commitment to resolving issues across political lines.

The Federal Minister praised the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, citing visionary policies that are steering Pakistan toward development and stability. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, led by General Syed Asim Munir, in building strong national institutions that underpin the country's progress.

The introduction of the Mobile Application and Management Information System is aimed at allowing workers to submit claims conveniently from their homes, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and merit. This initiative represents modern governance and good governance in action. The Minister further noted the government's dedication to making institutions financially sustainable by strengthening financial discipline and resource utilization.

For overseas Pakistanis, Mr. Hussain mentioned that numerous countries are now setting formal job quotas for Pakistan, creating opportunities in global markets for skilled youth and bolstering foreign exchange inflows. Ongoing discussions with foreign ministers are expected to address issues faced by overseas Pakistanis and enhance employment opportunities abroad, positively impacting the national economy.

Secretary Workers Welfare Fund, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, expressed that under Chaudhry Salik Hussain's leadership, the transparency-focused project has been completed successfully, and the institution will continue its reform initiatives.

In a significant gesture during the event, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain presented a cheque worth PKR 1 million to the child of a worker from Lucky Cement Factory who was martyred in a terrorist incident. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, alongside a reaffirmed commitment to leveraging technology for public service and promoting the welfare of industrial workers in Pakistan.
