Lahore: The government is firmly committed to ensuring that every individual has the right to work with dignity and respect at their workplace, Lubna Ali, Regional Head of the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH), Lahore, stated in a recent interview.
According to Radio Pakistan, Lubna Ali emphasized that FOSPAH operates as a legal entity under the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010. This Act is designed to address workplace harassment and safeguard women's property rights across Pakistan. During her discussion with Radio Pakistan's correspondent Zunaira Khalid, she elaborated on the legal remedies available for victims of workplace harassment under Pakistani law.
Lubna Ali highlighted the importance of raising awareness and encouraging victims to report both direct sexual harassment and indirect psychological intimidation. She clarified that victims have the option to lodge a complaint either through their organization's internal inquiry committee or directly with FOSPAH, but not both simultaneously.
