Govt’s Operation Cleanup Targets Ending Encroachment Mafia in Islamabad

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reiterated the government's firm resolve for completely eliminating the encroachment mafia and illegal constructions from the federal capital. Chairing a special meeting in Islamabad today, he stated that the "Operation Cleanup" would continue without any pressure until it reaches its logical conclusion.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting reviewed various proposals to install sewage treatment plants at drains flowing into Rawal Dam to protect the water from contamination. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that these plants will ensure the provision of clean water to citizens.

Directions were also given to complete development work on the new block of Parliament Lodges by the end of next month. While reviewing the upgrade plan for Capital Police College, the meeting decided to construct new classrooms, a mess, and barracks for trainees.

The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing and new development projects in Islamabad. It was informed that three international companies have submitted designs for the new convention center, with the evaluation process currently underway. Legal requirements are being finalized, and construction is set to begin in the last week of June.

The meeting was briefed that work is also underway on eleven new police stations across Islamabad.
