Hosting OIC Women’s Conference a Distinct Honour for Pakistan: Tarar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Law and Justice and Human Rights has announced that hosting the two-day 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women is a distinct honor for Pakistan. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he emphasized that Pakistan will use this high-level forum to showcase the government's initiatives focused on women's empowerment and fostering an inclusive society.

According to Radio Pakistan, Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that prominent figures including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, along with a large number of women, will be participating in the conference. The event is being organized under the theme "Socio-Economic and Political Empowerment of Women in the OIC Countries: Challenges and Way Forward."

The Minister for Law announced that the "Islamabad Declaration" will be adopted at the conclusion of the conference. He expressed pride in Pakistan's upcoming two-year tenure as chair of the conference, affirming the country's readiness to meet its responsibilities.

Tarar noted that representatives from 57 OIC member countries are attending the conference, with various technical working groups contributing to the discussions. He mentioned that technical sessions are currently underway, with the central ministerial meeting scheduled for the following day.

Azam Nazeer Tarar reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing the agenda of women's rights protection.
