Hyderabad: IOJK: In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, occupation forces have further intensified military crackdown especially in Rajouri and Poonch districts. According to Radio Pakistan, Indian army, paramilitary, and police personnel are carrying out cordon and search operations in thickly forested areas, while multiple checkpoints have been set up on highways, roads, and public places, subjecting civilians to intrusive searches and questioning. In another alarming development, Indian authorities have ordered civil defence air raid and blackout mock drills in several districts including Kupwara, Islamabad, and Ganderbal, triggering fear among residents already living under a siege-like atmosphere. Meanwhile, Indian forces arrested four Kashmiri activists, including a woman, during house raids in Srinagar's Hazratbal area on pro-freedom charges. The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has condemned India's National Investigation Agency for using delaying tactics to prolong illegal dete ntion of its incarcerated chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah despite a ruling by the Indian Supreme Court in his favour. Meanwhile, Amnesty International, in its annual human rights report, specifically highlighted home demolitions, book bans, custodial torture, and shrinking civic space in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Amnesty has reported a sharp deterioration in India's human rights situation, citing misuse of sedition and anti-terror laws against activists, journalists, academics, and students, while Muslims face escalating discrimination, mass evictions, and violence. Separately, the World Kashmir Awareness Forum launched a mobile digital campaign across New York City, urging the United Nations to implement its decades-old resolutions on Kashmir and grant Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
