IMF Commends Pakistan’s Progress on Economic Reforms

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Resident Representative for Pakistan, Mahir Binici, has reaffirmed the institution's continuous support for Pakistan's economic and climate reform initiatives. Addressing a gathering of economists, researchers, and policy experts at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute in Islamabad, Binici highlighted the promising growth prospects across the Middle East and Pakistan, projected to strengthen in 2025 and beyond.

According to Radio Pakistan, Binici emphasized the urgent need for prudent and forward-looking policy actions to sustain this growth trajectory. He acknowledged Pakistan's strong performance under the IMF's Extended Fund Facility, attributing the success to early policy measures that have restored macroeconomic stability and rebuilt investor confidence, despite ongoing external challenges.

Binici also highlighted Pakistan's progress in climate-related reforms under the IMF's Resilience and Sustainability Facility, underscoring the importance of these efforts in the broader context of sustainable development.
