Lahore: A simple but impressive Change of Guards ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore on Saturday. During the ceremony, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy assumed the security charge of the Mazar from Punjab Rangers for a day. According to Radio Pakistan, Commander Central Punjab of Pakistan Navy, Rear Admiral Azhar Mahmood, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He laid a floral wreath and offered fateha on the national poet's grave. Later, he penned remarks in the Visitor's Book, lauding Allama Iqbal's great political and literary achievements and services. Meanwhile, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visited Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore on Saturday to pay homage to the national poet and philosopher Dr. Allama Iqbal on his birth anniversary. He laid a floral wreath over the grave and offered fateha.
