Islamabad: India needs to reconcile with Pakistan's significance and learn to peacefully coexist, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The statement was issued in response to comments made by the Indian Chief of Army Staff, reflecting on India's approach towards Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ISPR criticized the mindset of India's leadership, describing it as hubristic and jingoistic, which has historically led South Asia towards conflicts. The statement emphasized that threatening a nuclear neighbor with geographic elimination is not a strategic move but rather a display of cognitive incapacity and warmongering tendencies. Such actions, the ISPR noted, ignore the mutual devastation that any geographic obliteration would entail.
The ISPR further highlighted that responsible nuclear states exhibit restraint and strategic sobriety, avoiding language that suggests civilizational supremacy or national erasure. It stated that despite the prevailing ill will in India, Pakistan remains a significant global entity, a nuclear power, and an integral part of South Asia's geography and history.
The statement also pointed out that India's narrative often overlooks its own historical role in fostering terrorism in the region and its contribution to regional instability. It accused India of engaging in transnational assassinations and spreading disinformation globally. The ISPR warned that Delhi's aggressive stance is more a result of frustration than confidence, especially in light of its failure to harm Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq.
The ISPR concluded by advising Indian leadership against actions that could push South Asia into another crisis, warning of the devastating consequences such actions could have for the entire region. The statement urged India to acknowledge Pakistan's importance for regional peace and stability.
