Islamabad:The 7th meeting of the steering committee on wheat imports for Food Year 2026-27 convened in Islamabad, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to Radio Pakistan, the committee evaluated the progress of wheat import arrangements and instructed the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to accept the lowest bids for acquiring the remaining 185,000 metric tons needed by Sindh.
Ishaq Dar also directed the governments of Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to promptly manage the necessary payments and finalize tripartite agreements with the TCP to ensure the import process is executed on time.
He emphasized that these imports are crucial to maintaining adequate wheat supplies at fair prices, thereby providing significant relief to the public.
