Lahore: Italy has expressed readiness to further enhance cultivation of palm in Chakwal besides making investment in livestock and dairy projects of Punjab. During a meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore today, Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Marilina Armellin highlighted potential of cooperation between the two countries in tourism, textile, leather and marble sectors amongst others. According to Radio Pakistan, Marilina Armellin emphasized Italy's interest in strengthening economic ties with Pakistan and exploring new avenues for collaboration. The ambassador's proposal includes a focus on palm cultivation in the region of Chakwal, which is expected to bring mutual benefits and economic growth. Armellin also discussed potential investments in Punjab's livestock and dairy sectors, aiming to boost these industries through Italian expertise and resources. On her part, Maryam Nawaz assured to provide every possible facility to Italian investors. She reiterated the Punjab government's co mmitment to creating a favorable environment for foreign investments, which is expected to foster economic development and job creation in the region. Both parties acknowledged the significance of enhancing bilateral relations and agreed to continue efforts in exploring further opportunities for cooperation.
