Peshawar:The Provincial Apex Committee has called for all relevant departments to undertake decisive and coordinated actions to eliminate terrorism and establish lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Radio Pakistan, these directives emerged from a meeting chaired by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, held in Peshawar. The meeting began by paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives maintaining peace.

The committee assessed the security situation in the province, focusing on measures needed to eradicate terrorism and establish sustainable peace. A decision was made to address issues related to education, health, and quality of life, as well as socio-economic development in underdeveloped and terrorism-affected areas.

The committee emphasized the need to enhance the operational capacity of the Police and Counter-Terrorism Department by equipping them with modern logistics and increasing manpower. Intelligence-based operations against terrorism will persist, with all available resources allocated to improve law and order.

The committee reiterated that eradicating terrorism and establishing law and order are shared objectives and top priorities for all state institutions, with continued efforts to achieve these goals.
