MI-17 Helicopter Crash Claims Lives of Five Crew Members Near Hudor Village

Hudor: An MI-17 helicopter belonging to Army aviation crash-landed near Hudor village, approximately twelve kilometers from Thakdas Cantonment, resulting in the martyrdom of all five crew members onboard. The unfortunate incident occurred during a routine training flight when the helicopter developed a technical fault that led to the crash.

According to Radio Pakistan, the shuhada include Pilot in Command Major Atif, Co-pilot Major Faisal, Flight Engineer Maqbool, and crew chiefs Jahangir and Amir. Training missions like these are integral to Army Aviation's routine activities to ensure operational readiness for various tasks, ranging from operational support to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

In an official statement, ISPR emphasized the Pakistan Army's commitment to maintaining readiness in all aspects. The tragic loss of the crew has drawn expressions of grief and sorrow from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

In their individual messages, the President and Prime Minister offered prayers for the high ranks of the martyred crew members. They also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs, praying for their patience and courage during this difficult time.
