Islamabad: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has directed the officials concerned to identify suitable sites for the establishment of Model Special Economic Zones and prepare a comprehensive concept paper for the purpose. Chairing a meeting on Model-SEZs and the policy framework for the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan today, he stressed the need to enhance government-to-government cooperation with China. According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister emphasized that Pakistan would provide land to Chinese industries, while they would manage the infrastructure and market these zones themselves. This initiative aims to facilitate the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan, thereby strengthening the economic ties between the two countries. The proposed Model SEZs are expected to play a crucial role in attracting foreign investment and boosting economic growth in the region.
