Islamabad:The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has introduced a new digital feature on the Pak Hajj App and the Hajj digital portal. This feature allows for the online submission of requests for substitute Hajj applicants.
According to Radio Pakistan, under this new initiative, a successful Hajj applicant facing unforeseen circumstances can nominate a close relative as their substitute. In the event of a Hajj applicant's death, a close relative can also submit an online application to serve as a substitute.
To process these requests, the nominated substitute must be registered on the Hajj portal, and applicants are required to upload relevant documentary proof, such as a medical certificate or a death certificate, to justify the substitution. The Ministry confirmed that the Hajj dues already deposited by the original applicant will be utilized for the substitute pilgrim.
